Becoming a writer isn't easy. SURPRISE!!! I know you're stunned. I was!
Reading is so simple, so wonderful, so engrossing, that I thought writing should be exactly the same. I should be able to lose myself in the world I created just as easily as I do those of my favorite authors. BUT, it doesn't work that way. Writing isn't just fun.

Yup, that's it. Today, finally, CAUGHT IN CRIMSON releases from Ellora's Cave! I’ve been so busy being all healthy and stuff that I forgot Tuesday is our check-in day!

So, as you remember, Sidney Bristol and I decided that 2013 is our year to get healthy. Hells, yeah. So last week I went Caveman, and kicked off the paleo way of eating.
The benefits have been LEGION, but I’ll summarize the highlights so far.
1. I lost 11 pounds. NOW, I know that’s too much to lose in a week. But I firmly believe that most of this was bloat and water weight due to the icky processedness of my previous diet. I went from eating probably 80% processed starches to eating 100% fresh protein, fruits and veggies. I don’t expect this insanely fast loss to continue, (it’s already slowed down some) but DAMN was it a nice kick start!
2. My brain is less fuzzy. My concentration and mood have improved since improving my diet.
3. My energy levels are climbing. I’m doing more, and feeling better.
So all in all, I’m really pleased so far! I intend to keep on trucking with the diet, and I’m hoping to join an old friend at a dance class this week, so maybe my exercise routine will actually exist.

The blog challenge this week is to design a "Pleasure Planet." Well, I'll happily do that, but let's face it.
What flips my switch doesn't necessarily flip yours. Although if sales of my kinky novels are any indication, some of you do enjoy the same things--you dirty readers, you. ;)
So here's MY interpretation. I am the goddess of the Planet Pleasure, and I'm creating this world.
There is such a thing called "The List."
Each husband and each wife own one. This is the list of people that, if they show up at your front door, you're allowed to go have insane, crazy, buck-wild monkey sex with, and your significant other won't complain.
My list has a few people on it. The most interesting is probably Heidi Klum.
Indelibly Intimate is doing well.
Much better than either of my other releases.
I certainly don’t bear any responsibility for the increase in attention. I’ve been so caught up in my personal life issues lately that I’ve barely participated in any of the things I should have for II’s release.
I wrote the book, but there are people who’ve worked way harder than me to ensure that it sells well.
First of all, Sidney Bristol. This woman masterminded the Pricked party, and mobilized a group of otherwise unrelated authors to blog, tweet, and chat together for our mutual benefit. She’s been amazing, and I wish I could kiss her cute little toes.
Then my other fellow authors in the Pricked theme series. These ladies have tweeted, reviewed, and otherwise pimped the hell out of Indelibly Intimate. I’m humbled by their generosity, especially since I’ve been such a space cadet for the last couple of months.
Then, you guys. The readers.
I don’t know if any of you actually read my blog. But I do know that you read my books. And for someone who’s favorite dream is to share her characters with others who’ll love them like I do, that’s something I can’t repay.
But I’d like to try.

The universe is very good to me, and so are you.
I started practicing my autograph when I was a kid. I think it really cranked into high gear when I was about twelve years old. I’d say, “why yes, darling, of course I’ll sign your album!” and scribble my name with a flourish on my notebook.
I didn’t really think much about how I’d get “famous”. I just thought maybe someday someone would hear me sing and just plop a billion dollar recording contract in my lap. I certainly didn’t think about writing novels at that age. Books were too much fun. Why make them a job?
When we were about 15, my best friend and I decided we were going to have a band. We’d be called “Angelic Vixen.” We never wrote any songs, or picked up any instruments, but we had a bitchin CD cover planned.
In retrospect, I’m glad that didn’t happen. For one, I’m a mediocre singer at best. For another, while I love to travel, I dont think I’m cut out for life on concert tour. And I adore writing. So signing my first, real autograph will be the result of a lot of hard work instead of luck and happenstance.
Other things in life haven’t been as easy as I expected either. But you know what? It makes me appreciate it more. As I embark on the next chapter of my life, I know the value of striving for something. And that’s something that you can’t learn from anyone except life.
